Embracing Holiness for Prophetic Accuracy

As prophets, it is crucial to understand that holiness is not just a suggestion, but a requirement for accurate prophetic ministry. Holiness is the key to hearing clearly from God and delivering His messages accurately to others. When we live a life of holiness, we position ourselves to be vessels that God can use powerfully in the prophetic.

Embracing holiness involves living a life set apart for God, free from sin and distractions. It requires daily surrendering to God, seeking His presence through prayer and studying His Word. Holiness also involves guarding our hearts and minds from worldly influences that can hinder our ability to hear from God clearly. When we prioritize holiness in our lives, we can experience greater prophetic accuracy and see God move in mighty ways through our words and actions.

Key Lesson Concepts:

  • Holiness is a requirement for accurate prophetic ministry.
  • Living a life set apart for God through surrender, prayer, and studying His Word.
  • Guarding our hearts and minds from worldly influences to hear from God clearly.

The Art of Holiness

And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” So Aaron held his peace.

Leviticus 10:3 NKJV

“The ministry of prayer, if it be anything worthy of the name, is a ministry of ardor, a ministry of unwearied and intense longing after God and after his holiness.”

In the beginning Adam and Eve were created without sin and clothed with God's Glory and presence. They were created as carriers of God’s Glory. After creating them perfect and in complete holiness. The Lord then commissioned Adam and Eve to fill the earth with God's glory by multiplying holy people in the earth. Holiness has always been God’s original intent for all those created in His image. Adam and Eve walked in perfect divine union with God. Until the day sin was introduced by the great deceiver Satan. Sin’s entrance into the earth caused the ultimate separation between God’s children and His Glory.

When our first parents ate from the tree of knowledge that they were commanded by the Lord not to eat from. Sin entered and we instantly fell from the Glory of God.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23 ESV

This fall caused instant spiritual death, as well as total separation from God’s presence.Sin has and always will be that which separates man from God’s presence. We were designed to walk in holiness from the very beginning of creation. There is an inward desire within us all to be moral and righteous. This is why most religions have moral codes. However, sin's entry into the world has perverted the morality of mankind. Theologians call this the Adamic nature or the old man.

At the Fall the Lord's heart began to yearn for His people to be restored back to His Glory. There was only one problem, and that problem though dealt with on the cross was and is sin. Sin is what separates us from walking in a greater measure of God’s presence and power. The Lord in the beginning created every person with three parts. We were created body, soul, and spirit.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV

At the fall of man in the garden, as a result of sin’s entrance into the earth. The human spirit instantly died, and we were separated from the Glory. The desire of Jesus is for us as His friends, that we would walk with Him like Enoch, Moses and the generals of old. That’s why we must receive a revelation of holiness. We cannot be a people that carry the glory of God without holiness. In our journey of seeking God’s presence, we must equally and even the more seek after righteousness. God’s righteousness must be pursued in the secret place. Satan has done a great job at perverting our view of God’s holiness as just a set of pointless rules.

When it’s much deeper than just following a set of rules. We walk in holiness out of a deep love for Jesus Christ. We are married to Him and so must walk as a pure virgin bride before Him.

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

2 Corinthians 11:2 New International Version

Sin in the life of a saint separates us from our rightful place in God’s presence. It also causes us to commit spiritual adultery against our bridegroom God. God never designed human beings to live under the rule of sin. We can now live victorious over sin, because of the resurrection of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live holy as the bride of Christ. We out of passionate love walk in purity before our friend and bridegroom Jesus Christ.

Holiness is beautiful in the eyes of the Lord. There is splendor that is connected to a life lived in face to face communion with Jesus that is clothed in righteousness. Just think, Adam and Eve ran from the presence of the Lord as a result of their sin (Genesis 3:8 NIRV)

Sin causes us to run and hide, we feel dirty in God’s presence. Sin makes us feel naked and exposed as we walk in the Glory. In the glory sin cannot remain, it is dangerous. Ananias and his wife died because they lied in the glory. We will be a generation that not only chases after gifts, but purity. As we walk in this revelation of purity we will see an increase of intense Glory and power in our lives, and ministries. We love Him so we must keep his commandments (John 14:15). This is the secret behind true holiness and an intense addiction to the person of Jesus Christ.

One key aspect of the role of prophets in the Bible is the requirement for holiness. Prophets were chosen by God to deliver His messages to the people, and as such, they were expected to live a life that reflected God's character. This requirement for holiness was not just about following a set of rules, but it encompassed a deep commitment to God, a life of integrity, and a willingness to be set apart from the ways of the world. Throughout the Bible, we see examples of how God called his prophets to a high standard of moral conduct and obedience.

For instance, in the book of Isaiah, we learn about the prophet Isaiah's encounter with God in the temple, where he sees a vision of the Lord sitting on a throne. In this powerful vision, Isaiah is overwhelmed by a sense of his own unworthiness and sinfulness in the presence of God's holiness. However, God graciously cleanses Isaiah and commissions him to be His messenger to the people of Israel. This story highlights the importance of holiness in the life of a prophet, as it is only through a clean heart and a right relationship with God that one can effectively speak on His behalf.

As we study the lives of the prophets in the Bible, we can see how their dedication to holiness set them apart and empowered them to fulfill their calling. Whether it was Elijah confronting the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, or Jeremiah speaking out against the idolatry of the Israelites, the prophets stood as beacons of truth and righteousness in a world filled with sin and deception. Their unwavering commitment to God and His standards of holiness not only gave them authority in their words and actions but also served as a convicting reminder to the people of God's desire for them to walk in holiness and obedience.
